About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was built in 1956. The temple was established by Mr. Velaikkaran, who, along with the workers from his estate, constructed the temple. In the early days, the worshippers offered prayers at a snake mound on the estate, placing a trident there for worship. Later, Mr. Velaikkaran installed an idol of Amman and built a small hut around it. In 1956, the temple structure was renovated and transformed into a modest thatched hut. Then, in 1970, with the support of the temple management and devotees, a complete renovation was carried out, and the temple was modernized. Today, the temple is officially registered and continues to operate efficiently, with all rituals and festivals conducted with great devotion and splendor.
