About Our Temple
Approximately 120 years ago, the Tamil community residing in the eastern region of the West Country, Kajang, constructed a Mariamman temple to worship the deity. Those Tamils employed in rubber plantations and timber cutting activities erected a Maha Mariamman temple, considering it their protective divine abode. In 1950, the temple underwent relocation from 9th Hill Estate to Rokka Estate, bringing along the statues of Ambal and Muneeswaran. Subsequently, the temple operated with three idols, namely Mariamman, Ambal, and Muneeswaran. In 1980, a minor fire affected a portion of the temple. Through the dedicated efforts of the then head of the temple administration, Mr. Sundaram, the temple underwent renovation, and a Kumbabhishekam ceremony was conducted. As the temple's land is government-owned, a formal request has been submitted to acquire the land. The temple has been officially registered, and all religious ceremonies and rituals are regularly performed. Presently, the temple is situated on the banks of Sungai Ladang.
