About Our Temple

In 1973, the Tamil community residing around Klang, Kapar, and Kuala Langat farms established a small worship place. However, due to the construction of the JPJ building, the temple had to be relocated. YB Dato Sivalingam, the Selangor Government's Exco and temple chairman, facilitated the move in 1995, with expenses covered by the Selangor government. Later, through the collaboration of the Federal Government and the Selangor State, resulted in the construction of Sri Maha Mariamman Rimba Temple in Shah Alam. Presently, the temple serves as a prominent worship center for the Shah Alam Tamil community. YB Dato Gunasekaran and the youth of Taman Kem Rimba have taken charge of the temple's management, offering free tuition classes to local youth. Plans are underway to renovate and upgrade the temple, although the project is still in the planning stage.
