About Our Temple

In 1912, the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was established by the Tamil community who migrated to work in the rubber estates. In the initial days, a small shrine was set up, dedicating it to Goddess Mariamman and Muniswaran, considering them as guardian deities. In 1954, with the assistance of the temple management, the temple was relocated to a nearby location. During that period, the Perumal (Lord Vishnu) temple, which was nearby, had to be abandoned due to urban development. Consequently, the deities Perumal and Mahalakshmi were integrated into the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, along with their respective idols. In 2012, the entire temple underwent renovation and expansion, culminating in a grand Khumbabishegam ceremony. Presently, the temple is registered, and all worship ceremonies are conducted with great significance.
