About Our Temple
Around 80 years ago, the Tamil community living in Ann Kiat Estate, before urban development, established the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. During that time, the community members, residing in the estate, worshipped Goddess Mariamman and Muniswaran, considering them as their guardian deities. In 1951, they set up a small shrine and conducted poojas, lighting lamps in devotion. Later, with the efforts of the temple management and devotees, a modest temple was constructed in 2001, and the first Khumbabishegam ceremony was held. In 2016, the temple underwent comprehensive renovation, and a grand Khumbabishegam ceremony took place. The temple is known for its historic and cultural significance, and the sacred neem tree planted there is well-preserved. Currently, all worship ceremonies are regularly conducted, and the temple is actively involved in community activities.
