About Our Temple
The inception of the Maha Mariamman Temple dates back to 1920 when rubber plantation workers in Pradas (Mini Garden) initiated its construction. Despite facing rejections from various quarters when seeking assistance, an individual named Thambi Pillai persisted in his efforts. By 1960, Thambi Pillai's family managed to secure public donations, successfully establishing the temple, which is now over a century old. In 1986, the worship of Lord Pillaiyar was introduced to this Amman temple. Subsequently, in 1990, Lord Murugan was also venerated during Thaipoosam celebrations. Over time, the deities Lord Saniswaran and Shiva were incorporated into the temple's worship. In 2014, under the guidance of Mdm. Indrani, the construction of the temple tower commenced. A statue of Goddess Pechiamman, imported from Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India, was added to the temple's revered deities. By 2016, the temple's construction was successfully completed, culminating in the inaugural Kumbaabhisegam ceremony.
