About Our Temple
Hindu religious workers, who have been residing and working on the land since 1930, erected the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple at Ladang Batu Dua Kerling. The temple serves as a place for prayer rituals dedicated to Goddess Mariamman, worshipped in the form of a clay statue. These workers constructed a small temple with zinc roofs to house the goddess. In 1930, the temple was relocated to its present site by the followers of the estate, situated not far from the living quarters. Subsequently, the Guthrie group took ownership of the land. A recently built temple now stands, paying homage to the Mariamman deity, and is conveniently located near the homes of the local residents. One of the individuals from the community molded the goddess, who initially resided in a hut, into a statue form for worship.
