About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariyamman Batu Sawa Temple is located in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, and it is believed to have been established in 1922 by Mr. Karmegam and Indian workers brought from India for laying railway lines. In the absence of a nearby temple, the workers felt the need for a place of worship. Consequently, they constructed a small hut using wooden planks and a zinc roof. They installed a deity of Amman brought from India, worshipping her daily and trusting in the protection of Goddess Amman. This temple is officially registered and observes Chitrai Thiruvilla as an annual festival.
