About Our Temple
Established in 1887, the Sri Maha Nookalamman Temple boasts a rich 138-year history. Initially constructed by the Telugu People, who were under British rule, the temple served as a place for ancestor prayer rites (Kuladeivam Vazhipaadu). The Telugu community specifically worships Goddess Amman, who originally resided in the Indian village of "Annakapalli." The temple's foundation was laid using soil carried from Annakapalli by the Telugu People who were transported to the current location. Annually, the farm's residents celebrate the goddess with a grand festival called Koladeivam Valipaadu Thiruvilla. One notable historical incident involves Amman guiding the construction of the temple in the dreams of the former Chairman and temple architect, Stapathi, to worship 'Mahesashura Marthini.' The temple gained prominence for its reputation of granting devotees' wishes, bringing relief from sorrow, and blessing childless parents with children. Many devotees claim to witness Goddess Mahesashura Marthini in their dreams, where their wishes are granted. The temple hosts vibrant ceremonies for three consecutive days during every 'Ugadi' holiday. Due to its unique characteristics, the temple has become a focal point for worshippers locally and globally.
