About Our Temple

For approximately 70 years, the Sri Maha Shiva Muneeswarar Temple has been situated in proximity to Kuala Lumpur Hospital, with its establishment dating back to 1952. During that time, there existed a small crematorium at the rear of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital building, where about 10 families resided. The villagers, living in constant apprehension due to the proximity of the large hospital and the frequent occurrences of death, sought the assistance of Mr. Arasan from Tamilnadu. Understanding the villagers' anxieties, Mr. Arasan suggested that a guardian deity was needed for a resolution. He proposed the worship of Muniswarar as the solution. Subsequently, a temple was constructed, featuring a statue of Muneeswarar, at a location known as Sudukattu Kampan. The contributions of Guru Sivanandam, Guru Sundaram, and Guru Balasubramaniam in this temple are commendable. In 2021, plans were made to renovate the temple into a larger structure, culminating in a grand Kumbabhishekam scheduled for June 5, 2022.
