About Our Temple
The Sri Mahamariamman Temple, situated in Kuantan, Pahang, is believed to have been established in 1970 by the workers of the Tong Ah estate. Initially, a simple structure was erected using wooden planks and a zinc roof, housing a portrait of Goddess Amman. Devotees gathered to worship and seek blessings from Goddess Amman. With the temple under new management, they undertook the construction of a stone building and placed a stone idol of Goddess Amman in the temple's sanctum. The annual celebration of Aadi Thiruvilla draws a significant crowd to the temple.
