About Our Temple
Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Jeram, Kuantan, Pahang, was built by the Tamil community with the permission of the Harrison Crossfield estate management. In the 1980s, the land of the estate was acquired as part of an urban development project, which led to the workers relocating from the estate to urban areas. As a result, the workers formally petitioned the government for land to build a temple and a Tamil school within their residential area. In the 1990s, the government allocated a separate plot of land for this purpose. On this land, the new Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was constructed, and a Kumbhabhishekam was performed. Today, the temple is officially registered, and all rituals and festivals are celebrated with great devotion. During special festivals and rituals, people from areas such as Bandar Damansara Kuantan, Balok, and Semambu participate to seek the blessings of the Goddess.

The uniqueness of this temple is the existence of this Hindu temple in a Muslim majority area symbolizing tolerance and harmony between races in the State of Pahang. The Hindus in this area and in the surrounding area want to maintain the existence of this temple. The Pahang government has allocated land even though the land size is small for the temple.
