About Our Temple
Kuil Sri Mangala Nayagi Amman temple can be found in Matang, Perak. This temple was built in 1862 by farm workers from India who came to Malaya. The temple was initially constructed as a small hut. Then, in 1915, a temple sculpture architecture was built according to the Hindu customs, and Goddess Amman was housed in the temple. This temple became a place of worship for the Matang Indian community. The old building was then demolished in 1985. On the same site, a new building was constructed and completed in 1988. This building was renovated again in 2014, with the facilities for devotees being upgraded to meet current needs. This temple has remained as their place of worship. Many local devotees come to the shrine during Navarathri prayers which is celebrated grandly.
