About Our Temple
In the 1880s, the British brought Tamils from India to work on plantations. The Tamils, residing in the area, initially worshipped Lord Muneeswaran in a small shrine made of planks. Over time, a snake mound developed, eventually covering the entire shrine. In the early 1950s, cow farm owners cleaned the site and conducted a ritual by lighting a lamp. As the plantation transformed into residential areas, JKR workers later collaborated to construct a Sri Muneeswarar temple, culminating in a Kumbabhishekam ceremony. Formally registered in 1986, the temple now serves as the primary place of worship for the local residents, hosting various pujas and festivals.
