About Our Temple
Situated on the outskirts of Jameluang in Mersing, Johor, this temple has a historical origin dating back to around 400 years ago in the 1950s. During that time, the Indian community resided on a Chettiar farm where they erected a Vel in the farm's yard. This initiative stemmed from the dreams of several individuals living on the estate. A small hut was constructed in the area surrounding the Vel, where over time, numerous farm residents engaged in prayer ceremonies to safeguard the community from any malevolent forces. In the 1970s, the farm residents were relocated to a different area, and the temple came under the stewardship of Mr. Chandran, a highly skilled priest. This development garnered attention among the residents of the Mersing district. The temple is notably involved in celebrating festivals such as Thaipusam and Chitra Pournami. During festive seasons, numerous visitors flock to this temple to partake in the celebrations.
