About Our Temple
In 1960, Mr. Narayanan, the Chief of Staff at Lumut District Hospital and son of Mr. Balakrishnan, received a divine message from Anjaneya in a dream, instructing him to establish a Rama temple in the area. Around the same time, Mr. Ramaiya, an individual working in the electricity sector, was informed by Mr. Narayanan that worshiping Rama at the envisioned temple could aid in his recovery from an illness. Convinced, they collectively laid the foundation stone and commenced worshiping Rama, resulting in Mr. Ramaiya's complete recovery. Subsequently, Mr. Ramaiah, Mr. Balan, along with Lumut's friends and hospital staff, initiated worship in a small shed, using a picture of Sri Rama and a small idol. A few years later, the Lumut community decided to construct a Sri Rama temple alongside the existing Muneeswarar temple. However, the temple management, led by Mr. Dr. V.V.V. Menon and Mr. Natarajan, opted for the current location. Welfare workers contributed one thousand five hundred dollars to the cause. In 1976, the first Kumbabhishekam was conducted grandly, orchestrated by V. Kannappa Chettiar and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Perak. The temple is now officially registered, and regular pujas are conducted.
