About Our Temple

The inception of the Sri Sitthi Vinayagar temple dates back to 1950, initiated by its founder, C.S. Gandhi. In 1962, Mr. P. Govinda Samy Pillai generously contributed the essential stones for the temple's construction. The inaugural Kumbabhishekam took place on November 8, 1964. Subsequently, the temple's infrastructure expanded, and a hall was erected, leading to the second Kumbabhishekam on September 14, 1972. Adorning the temple, the Raja gopuram showcases an array of golden sculptures, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Alongside the worship of Sri Sitthi Vinayagar, the temple also venerates Durgai Amman, Vairavar, and Sanneeshwaran. A comprehensive renovation of the entire temple, including the construction of the majestic Raja gopuram, culminated in the third Kumbabhishekam on June 12, 1994. In 1998, additional land adjacent to the temple was acquired, and accommodations were built for the residing workers. The fourth Kumbabhishekam occurred on February 7, 2007. On Vinayagar Chaturthi, a significant Eka Vimshati ceremony transpired, featuring 21 herbs such as Dharpai grass, Kandangathiri, Vilva leaves, Arugam grass, Umatathi Pathira, among others. The culmination of these efforts resulted in the grand Maha Kumbabhishekam on February 7, 2020, marking a significant milestone in the temple's history.
