About Our Temple
For over 120 years, the Tamil community has resided in the Sungai Wangi Perak Sitiawan estate. In 1898, the Tamils in this region worshipped deities such as Vinayagar, Murugan, Ambal, Idumban, and Nagalingam. In 1983, Datuk Sri Sami Velu and the temple administration undertook significant efforts to initiate the construction of the Thandayuthapani Temple. The temple's completion occurred in 1987, marked by the inaugural Kumbabhishekam ceremony. Following this, a dedicated sanctum was erected to house all the temple idols, enhancing the grandeur of the temple. The temple is officially registered, and currently, all worship ceremonies and festivals are diligently observed.

In 1967, Mr. Krishna Bandaram found the statue of Murugan in the temple as a form of thandayuthapani. So, Sri Subramanian Temple was later renamed Sri Thandayuthapani Temple. It is known that after the name change, the Sitiawan area gained political importance and many benefits in the lives of its followers.
