About Our Temple
The establishment of Sri Thogaiyadi Vinayagar Temple took place in 1958, initiated by Mr. Supaiah Mandor. The temple derives its unique name, 'Thogaiyadi Vinayagar,' from the Thogaimalai mountain in Tamil Nadu. Initially conceived as a small Muneeswaran temple by the local laborers, it was constructed with wooden planks and zinc. Over time, the temple has undergone expansion, showcasing impressive architecture and intricate carvings, presenting a grand and beautiful appearance. The inaugural Kumbabhishekam was conducted in 1965, and Mr. Supaiah Mandor and Mr. Ramanathan played pivotal roles in the temple's development. The main festival celebrated at this temple is Vinayagar Chaturthi, marked by unique decorations portraying Vinayagar as a peacock, creating a captivating visual. During the festival, a chariot procession in honor of Ganesha traverses the residential area. The temple features separate sannathis for the worship of Thogaiyadi Vinayakar, Maha Mariamman, Murugan, and Muniswarar, reflecting the diverse religious practices of its devotees.
