About Our Temple
Arulmigu Deivam Muneeswarar Temple is located in Kolam Puvaya, Gopeng, Perak. The temple was built by Tamil workers who cleared the forests in the 1880s to create rubber estates. In the early days, they worshipped Muneeswarar as their guardian deity to protect themselves from wild animals and diseases. Initially, the worship was conducted in a small wooden hut, where a trident was placed, and prayers were offered to Muneeswarar. Later, the temple management made significant efforts to build a larger temple with the help of devotees. The Kumbabishekam was performed to mark the completion of the new temple. There is a belief that two white crocodiles reside in the pond behind the temple, and they are considered to have divine significance. The temple is now officially registered, and all rituals and festivals are performed with great devotion and grandeur.
