About Our Temple
The Arulmigu Sri Maha Mariamman Temple located in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi has a rich history dating back to 1890. Initially established by Tamil residents and Gurkha soldiers working in the plantations, the temple dedicated to Goddess Mariamman was a small structure with limited documentation of its early years. Worship centered around a trident placed at a modest altar. Official registration occurred in 1993, and in 2004, efforts by the temple administration led to the acquisition of land from the government for expansion. With dedicated support from devotees, a new temple was constructed, culminating in the inaugural Kumbabishegam ceremony in 2015. Presently, the temple complex boasts two levels, featuring the main shrine on the upper floor and a spacious hall below. Engaged in various activities, the temple observes all rituals and festivals with deep devotion. Additionally, the temple administration actively participates in community welfare initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to both spiritual and social duties.
