About Our Temple
In the Kampong Ambar Tenang locality, there was an absence of a temple for the residents until the year 2000. The government then designated an 18-acre plot in Lot 31 for public use, but unfortunately, it remained unused and turned into a neglected area. Subsequently, the land was reclaimed, highlighting the necessity for a temple in the area. After consulting with Thiruparangundram Bamban Swamigal, who was on a divine mission in Malaysia, an initiative was launched to establish a temple at the specified location. During a visit to the site, the Swamigal conducted a ritual involving eleven young girls, instructing them to immerse themselves in a nearby river. Following the ritual, a fascinating incident occurred where a snake approached one of the girls in a trance and shed its skin on her. Inquiring about her name, the Swamigal was told, "Theivayanaai," meaning Divine. Responding to this extraordinary event, the Swamigal proclaimed that, by the grace of Lord Murugan, the girl should be revered as the deity of the temple, and the temple built on that site should be dedicated to Lord Murugan. The consecration of the Mayooranatha Temple in 2002 was made possible with the blessings of Sri Bamban Swamigal, Sri Mayooranatha Peruman, and Sri Lasri Sri Ramachandra Swamigal. The inaugural Kumbabishekam ceremony took place in 2002 with grandeur. Presently, all Murugan poojas and festivals are joyously celebrated in this temple, which was officially registered in 2002.
