About Our Temple
Approximately a century ago, the Tamil community residing on the outskirts of Taman Chempaka established the Chempaka Sri Subramaniar Temple to fulfill their need for a sacred space. Recognizing this need, the residents initiated the establishment of a temple by placing a Vel (sacred spear) in a small shrine on a nearby hill, marking the modest origins of the Sri Subramaniar Temple in Taman Chempaka. Encountering challenges related to the temple land in 1969, Mr. Chennaiya dedicated significant efforts to secure an appropriate plot for the temple. In 1972, under the leadership of Mr. Govindasamy, the devotees' contributions played a crucial role in the comprehensive renovation and reconstruction of the temple. The Kumbabishekam ceremony, signifying the consecration of the temple, was conducted with grandeur, symbolizing the revitalization of the sacred space. Currently, the temple actively conducts regular worship services and joyous festive celebrations. Since its renovation in 1972, all activities are officially registered. The collective efforts of devotees have ensured the continuous prosperity of the Sri Subramaniar Temple in Taman Chempaka, establishing it as a steadfast spiritual center for the community.
