About Our Temple
The Benta Batumalai Andavar Temple is situated in Raub, Pahang, and was established in 1970 by Dato Munnusamy. This temple holds significant influence over the residents of Benta, comprising Indians, Malays, and Chinese. An interesting historical incident occurred when two workers discovered two large, bloodied stones, prompting the British to send experts to complete the footpath. Upon arrival, the British engineers and laborers instructed the villagers to discard lamps and other prayer items. Subsequently, the British destroyed the stone. In response, the locals constructed the Batu Gajah temple, featuring statues of Lord Muruga and Lord Vinayagar. Thanks to Benta Batumalai Andavar's devotees, the temple was spared from destruction in 2001. Importantly, the temple is officially registered.
