About Our Temple
The Dewa Sri Mahamuthu Mariamman Temple is situated in Bagan Serai, Perak. Back in the 1880s, during the British colonial period, a small hut with a statue of Goddess Amman was built by a group of Hindu workers employed in the palm oil plantations in the area. This temple served as a place of worship, as there were no other temples nearby at the time. Today, the temple has been meticulously maintained and transformed into a stone structure, adhering to Hindu architectural principles. In the Hindu faith, Amman is considered the creator God, and followers believe that Amman has the power to grant their wishes. As a result, all the People who worked in the plantation areas consistently participate in the special prayers and festivals. Thanks to the efforts of the current temple management, the temple has been officially registered, and all rituals are conducted with devotion and grandeur.
