About Our Temple

In the 1940s, a woman named Mrs. Sarojadevi Ammal lived in the Kampung Lakshamana area of Batu Caves. Near the house where she lived, she placed a small stone and lit a lamp to worship Goddess Maha Mariamman. In the following years, the people in the area, realizing the blessings of Goddess Mariamman, began to worship her and offer prayers. After Mrs. Sarojadevi's passing, a small administration was formed, and the place was turned into a public temple property. Later, through the efforts of the temple management and devotees, a temple dedicated to Sri Maha Mariamman was built, and the Kumbhabishekam (consecration) ceremony was conducted. Currently, the temple is registered, and all pujas and festivals are being conducted accordingly.
