About Our Temple
The Om Sakthi Sri Agora Veera Pathira Kaliamman Temple is believed to have been constructed by laborers who were brought from India to Kampung Larut Lama, Taiping. It is thought that this temple was established in the 1950s. In 1946, a Tamil school was constructed near this temple with government assistance. However, after 1952, the temple faced difficulties in maintenance due to attacks by communist forces. As many devotees and residents had relocated, the temple was eventually abandoned. In 1960, a management committee was established to restore the temple, and in the same year, the Kaliamman temple underwent renovation with a Kumbabhishegam ceremony. Then, in 1985, a statue of Goddess Kaliamman (which remains in the temple today) was brought, and a special worship ceremony was conducted to ensure the well-being of the temple.
