About Our Temple
Constructed during the Dutch rule in Malacca, this temple was granted land by the Dutch in 1781 to establish a place of worship for Muslim-Chinese Hindus in Kampong Keling. The unique feature of this temple is its proximity to the Kampong Keling Mosque and Seng Hoon Temple, situated in the same row near Jonker Walk. Lord Ganesha is revered for his believed ability to resolve karmic issues. Since 1901, the Melaka Chetti community has been granted special permission to oversee the management of this temple. Despite the significant responsibility for its upkeep, the temple license has remained with the Melaka Chetti community to the present day. Having undergone multiple reconstructions, the temple is presently situated within the Melaka History Center complex. Hindus residing and working in the city of Malacca continue to utilize this temple. The temple's celebrated festival is Vinayagar Chaturthi, and a recent kumbabhishekam ceremony was conducted. Renowned among both local and international tourists, this temple sees daily visits from a diverse range of visitors.
