About Our Temple
The Sree Muniswarar Jalan Istana Temple is located in Mengelembu, Ipoh. In 1927, it was constructed by the Hindu community residing in the JKR quarters. This temple is looked after by the JKR workers. During its early years, the temple took the form of a small hut with a zinc roof, and it housed a spear (Soolam) within its premises. Devotees conducted prayers and rituals in this humble setting. In the present day, the temple has undergone a transformation into a stone structure, a project financed with contributions collected from the devotees by the current temple management. The grand celebration of Aadi Thiruvilla is a significant and joyous event at this temple.
