About Our Temple
Established in 1888, the Nayak community, a subset of the Chetti Melaka, erected the Angalamma Parameshwari Temple as the protective deity of their land. Originally, a Shiva temple was constructed at the entrance of their village, and a year later, the Angalamma Parameshwari Temple assumed the role of the guardian deity at the village boundary. In the temple's early construction phase, ritualistic animal sacrifices were performed during worship. However, following guidance from scholars, the practice of sacrificing animals was discontinued in 1969. Adjacent to the temple, there is a pond, and devotees have named this religious site "Kuil Kolam Besar." The temple's management falls under a trustee, operating in the name of Vinayagar Murthy Temple.
