About Our Temple
The Sri Athisaya Vinayagar Temple, located in Sungai Pelek, Sepang, Selangor, was founded in 1972 by the Teluk Merbau Home Division estate to serve the Tamil community in the area. Led by Mr. Satchinathan, local youth came together to establish the temple. During this time, Mr. Ramasamy, a resident of the Sungai Linau plantation, mentioned the presence of a Vinayagar statue in the Sepang river. With the assistance of Mr. Thangaiya and his associates, the statue was retrieved from the river, believed to possess extraordinary power, prompting the establishment of the Sri Athisaya Vinayagar Temple. Initially housed in a small hut, the temple underwent renovation and was consecrated in 2006 through the collaborative efforts of the temple administration and devotees, including the inaugural Kumbabishekam ceremony. Presently, the temple is well-maintained and hosts regular rituals and festivals with grand celebrations.
