About Our Temple
Sri Balasubramaniyar Temple is located near the Port Klang Railway Station. In the 1890s, Tamil workers brought from India and Sri Lanka were settled near the port. These workers, living in their residential area, worshiped Lord Murugan as their protective deity by setting up a small spear (Vel) and offered prayers. Later, when the railway station was established in this area, Tamil workers in the railway sector came together to build a small Balasubramaniyar temple and continued to worship there. With the efforts of the temple administration and devotees, the temple was completely renovated and restored. After much hard work, the Kumbhabishekam (consecration) ceremony for the new temple was held in 1998 with great splendor. The temple is now officially registered, and all Murugan pujas and festivals are being conducted with great devotion and grandeur.
