About Our Temple
Sri Balasundara Mariamman Temple was built in 1930 by the workers of Selamat Estate Farm. This temple is owned by the British. In 1940, the temple was moved to its current location. Originally, this temple was only built as a small hut. In 2006, bathroom facilities, a dining hall and a badminton court were built for the basic facilities of residents around Ladang Selamat. Sri Balasundara Mariamman Temple celebrates several special days such as the temple's annual festival held on Chinese New Year. Navarathiri festival is also usually held for 9 days in this temple every year.
