About Our Temple
In 1971, the founder of ISKCON International, HDG Srila Prabhupada, visited Malaysia. He traveled to key locations such as Kuala Lumpur, Teluk Intan, Ipoh, and Penang. During his visit, he realized that there were very few Krishna temples in the country. As a result, he wished to establish temples dedicated to Lord Krishna in important locations across the nation. Following his wishes, in 1973, under the leadership of Dr. Anand Nadesa Pillai, ISKCON Teluk Intan was founded. Initially, prayers were held in a small prayer hall at one location. After the 1980s, prayers, other rituals, and spiritual events were conducted at a home. Over time, the temple gained popularity among the local Hindu community, leading to a space shortage. To resolve this issue, the temple management and devotees came together to construct a new temple. Accordingly, in 2001, a new temple was built. Today, the temple operates successfully and serves as an important place of worship for the local community.
