About Our Temple
The Sri Ellai Kaliamman Temple, located in Chepor, Perak, was established during the 1970s by the local community. Initially, it consisted of a modest hut with a statue of Goddess Amman, constructed by a group of devoted residents in the area. This temple served as a place of worship, as there were no other temples in close proximity at that time. It was a simple structure made from wooden planks with a zinc roof, situated beneath a Peepal tree, where prayers were conducted for the devotees. Today, the temple has been meticulously maintained and transformed into a solid stone structure. In Hinduism, Amman is revered as the creator God, and followers believe in her ability to fulfill their wishes. The grand celebration of Aadi Thiruvilla is a significant event in this temple.
