About Our Temple
In 1887, the Chetti community of Melaka built this temple for Lord Shiva as the guardian deity at the entrance of their village. This temple is also known as the new temple because this temple was built after Muthumariamman temple was built. This temple is considered the second most important temple by the Hindu community living in Kampong Chetti. In 2020, the temple was renovated with the help of the Melaka State Museum Corporation of Malaysia (PERZIM) and Kumbabhishekam was held successfully. The temple is also managed by a Trustee who works in the name of Vinayagar Murthy Temple.

In collaboration with the Government of Malaysia and the State Museum Corporation (PERZIM), there is a museum that exhibits the history of Chetti Melaka's life. It is considered to be the oldest temple in the history of Malacca. Many programs related to the unique religion and Chetti culture of Malacca are held.
