About Our Temple
The Kanaga Durgai Amman Temple is located in Ipoh, Perak. This temple was established in 1972 by the local community residing in the area. According to local legend, a member of the community had a dream in which Goddess Durgai Amman requested the construction of a temple. The villagers, with limited funds, erected a small hut made of wooden planks and a zinc roof, placing an image of Durgai Amman inside. They conducted prayers and worshipped her, and it was believed that many of their prayers were answered by the goddess. Today, this temple has been transformed into a stone structure and has obtained official registration under the Registrar of Societies (ROS). The annual celebration of Maasi Magam is observed as a significant festival in this temple.
