About Our Temple
Around 70 years ago, laborers in tin mines and rubber plantations engaged in worship and sacrificial rituals dedicated to their guardian deity. In 1985, with the approval and financial backing of the mine owner and management, a statue of Goddess Kaliamman was introduced for worship in the same location. Subsequently, the main shrine of the temple was dedicated to Goddess Karumariyamman, leading to the temple being named Karumbu Thota Karumariyamman. As urban development plans unfolded, the state government allotted 10,000 square feet of land for the administration of this temple. In 2004, through the concerted efforts and financial contributions of the temple management and the public, the temple was relocated, renovated, and officially registered.
