About Our Temple
In 1890, Tamil immigrants from India cleared jungle land to establish plantations, facing challenges such as threats from wildlife and diseases. To safeguard themselves, they decided to create a temple dedicated to guardian deities, seeking divine protection. In 1896, residents in Sungai Linau in Sepang Estate erected a makeshift temple for Sri Maha Mariamman, gaining popularity. By 1936, as the estate split into two, another temple emerged in a different area of the plantation. Following this, temple administrators established a new shrine named Sri Maha Mariamman Sri Muneeswarar Temple nearby. In 1997, temple authorities orchestrated a complete renovation, with further refurbishments completed in 2004. The grand consecration ceremony (Kumbabishekam) occurred in 2005. Presently, the temple actively conducts various rituals and ceremonies, with all poojas and festivals observed with profound devotion.
