About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was established in the 1940s by Tamil People residing in the Raub, Pahang region. Devotees who worked in the fields considered Goddess Mariamman as their guardian deity and, with great devotion, established the temple. In the early days, a small wooden hut was constructed, and a modest consecration ceremony took place, where worship was performed with simple rituals. In 1970, after the efforts of Mr. Narayanasamy, the temple was renovated, and the first Kumbhabhishekam (consecration) ceremony was conducted. Currently, the temple is registered and conducts all its ceremonies and rituals with great reverence. Special pujas and festivals are celebrated and this bringing more devotees together to receive the blessings of Goddess Ambal.

On every Tuesday and Friday there is a snake that always visits and then leaves the temple. It is a mystery to the Hindu People there. They think this is the power of 'Amman'. Goddess 'Amman' is made from soil. and Abishagam is not performed because the goddess is made of earth. Therefore Abishegam is done on another deity in front of the "statue of Dewa Amman" made of soil.
