About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was established in 1953. The temple was initially built as a small hut by Mr. Govindasamy Mandor with the efforts of the people living in the Pegoh estate for their worship. The temple housed idols of Lord Muniyandi and Goddess Mariamman, and the people began worshipping them there. In 1985, with the efforts of the temple management and the financial support of the devotees, the temple was expanded and rebuilt into a larger structure with a small tower. In addition, shrines for Goddess Kaliamman, Lord Vinayagar, and Lord Murugan were also established. Currently, the temple operates with the permission of the estate management, and all regular prayers and festivals are celebrated with great devotion.
