About Our Temple
Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is located in Kota Baru Estate, Gopeng, Perak. It was established in 1912 by Tamil workers employed in the plantation areas. Initially, the temple was a small hut under a banyan tree. The workers placed a trident and worshipped Mariamman as their guardian deity. Later, through the efforts of the temple management, a stone idol of the goddess was installed. Subsequently, the temple was fully renovated, and a grand Kumbabishekam (consecration ceremony) was conducted. The banyan tree from the early days is still preserved and maintained. The current temple management has officially registered the temple and continues to maintain it diligently. All regular rituals and festivals are conducted with great devotion and splendor.
