About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple can be found in Ipoh, Perak. It was established in 1908 by the Indian community. In its early days, the temple was situated beneath a Peepal tree, housed within a small hut featuring a zinc roof. The residents placed a deity of Amman inside the hut and conducted their worship. Today, with new management in place, the temple has been upgraded to a small stone structure building. The funds for this transformation were sourced from donations made by the devotees. The Chitrai Thiruvilla is celebrated in grand fashion at the temple, attracting a multitude of devotees during this period.
