About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is located in Meranti Estate, Lahat, Perak. It was founded in 1940 by the local residents of Meranti Estate, who lacked a nearby temple. They constructed a small hut made of wooden planks and a zinc roof, within which they placed an image of Goddess Amman. The devotees firmly believe in Goddess Amman's protective and problem-solving abilities. With new temple management in charge, the temple has been upgraded to a stone structure. It has also been officially registered. The annual celebration of Massi Magam is a significant event for the temple and its community.
