About Our Temple
In 1990, the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was established in the Midlands region by Tamil individuals who had previously worked as plantation laborers. Responding to the demands of the Tamil workers who were accustomed to temple practices, the temple was constructed under the leadership of the plantation management. During that time, individuals like Mr. Karthigesu, Mr. Duraisamy, and Mr. Vadivelu served as temple trustees and played a significant role in building the small temple. Later, in 1960, due to the development of the highway industry, the temple was relocated to a different place. Subsequently, in 1961, a new temple was constructed at the current location, and the Khumbabishegam ceremony took place. In 1990, the temple was officially registered, and in the following days, it underwent extensive renovations. The temple now stands as an impressive structure with five majestic towers, representing a grand and sacred place of worship for the devotees.
