About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple located in the Klana Jaya, Seaport area of Selangor was established around 100 years ago. The People living in the plantation areas worshiped Sri Maha Mariamman as their protective deity to safeguard themselves from disease and wild animals. In the early days, they offered prayers by placing a small trident (Soolam) in a small hut. In 1947, the temple administration built a small Sri Maha Mariamman temple and performed the first Kumbhabishekam (consecration ceremony). Later, the estate was divided and sold, but the estate administration allocated a separate piece of land for the temple. This land was later also acquired for urban development projects. However, a new site for the temple was provided, along with some financial assistance, to construct a new temple. With the help of the temple administration and devotees, the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was rebuilt, and the Kumbhabishekam was performed. The temple is now officially registered, and all prayers and festivals are being conducted with grandeur.
