About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman temple in the Simpang Ampar Tenang area was founded in 1924 by Tamil residents of the surrounding plantations. These laborers revered Goddess Mariamman and Lord Muniswaran as their guardian deities and dedicated the temple to them. With the assistance of devotees, the temple management later built a new temple at the original site, conducting a Khumbabishegam ceremony on a smaller scale. While historical details are scarce, the present temple administration diligently registers and carries out rituals and ceremonies in a formal manner.
