About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is located in Batu Gajah, Perak. In 1907, William Kellies Smith built this temple as an expression of gratitude to Goddess Sri Maha Mariamman, who had fulfilled his wish for a son. The primary deity of the temple is Goddess Amman, and it also houses other deities such as Navagaragam, Shivan, Murugan, and Vinayagar. Many devotees visit this temple to offer special prayers with the hope of having children. Interestingly, this temple attracts a diverse range of worshipers. It is not only frequented by Indian devotees, but it also welcomes devotees and visitors from various other countries.

This temple was constructed at the same time as Kellies Castle and shares a similar appearance. Materials like duck egg shells, lime, soil, honey, sugarcane, and nail mortar were used to construct this temple. Due to a lack of construction machinery at the time, the temple was entirely constructed by human manpower. The management of the temple also looks after and maintains the statue of Williams Kellies till today.
