About Our Temple
The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is located in Matang Perak. It was established about 100 years ago. In the early days, Tamil people built and worshipped guardian deities to protect themselves from wild animals, evil forces, and illnesses. Similarly, the Tamil community living in this area worshipped Goddess Mariamman and Lord Muneeswaran as guardian deities. Initially, the worshipping ceremony was conducted in a small wooden hut with a single trident. Later, through the efforts of the temple management, support of devotees, and donations from individuals, a new temple was built in 2007. Today, the temple is officially registered, and all rituals and festivals are conducted with great devotion.
