About Our Temple

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is located in Teluk Intan, Perak. This temple was constructed in 1892 by the local People residing in the area. Initially, it was a small hut made of wooden planks and zinc roofing. Later, under the leadership of Mr. Nagaraju D/P Sivachalam and with the help of devotees, the temple was completely renovated and restored. Over time, due to the efforts of the temple management, the temple saw significant development. As a result, it has become an important place of worship for the Tamil community living in the area. The temple is now officially registered and operates successfully. One of the special features of the temple is the Navaratri pooja, which is celebrated with great devotion. During the annual festival, the idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Murugan, and Goddess Mariamman are carried in processions through the nearby residential areas, which is one of the temple’s highlights.
